Why we’re building this
Winter Park TCG is a trading card shop opening in Winter Park, Florida in Fall 2026. It exists because Central Florida has plenty of places that happen to sell cards, and not many built around the games themselves.
The gap
If you play a trading card game around Orlando, you already know the routine. The big-box shelf has three sealed products and no singles. The hobby shop carries your game as a courtesy, so the card you need has never once been in the case. So you order it, wait a week, and play the deck you meant to play a week ago — or you drive forty minutes to a shop that actually stocks it.
That drive is the whole problem. Not that the cards are unavailable — almost everything is available if you are willing to wait — but that being able to walk in and finish a deck the same afternoon has become the rare thing. It should be the normal thing, and near Winter Park it currently isn’t.
What we’re committing to
- STOCK IT PROPERLYOR NOT AT ALL
Six games, each carried like it is somebody’s main game — because for somebody it is. A shop that samples ten games badly is ten disappointments waiting to happen. We would rather be the shelf you drive to for one game than the shelf you settle for on six.
- TABLES ARE THE POINTNOT THE LEFTOVER
Table space is in the floor plan from the first sketch, not squeezed into whatever is left after the retail fixtures. A card shop without somewhere to play is a card vending machine with worse hours.
- PRICE IT HONESTLYEVERY SINGLE
Anyone standing at the case can check us on their phone in four seconds, and they should. Pricing that only works when the customer does not look it up is a business model with a countdown on it.
A room, not just a counter
The part of this hobby that keeps people in it is not the cards. It is the weeknight where eight people who would otherwise never have met are arguing about a ruling. That needs a room with chairs in it, and a shop willing to give up sellable square footage to have one.
So there will be table space for pickup games, league nights and events across the games we carry — Commander, Pokémon, One Piece and the rest. Not a folding table by the door as an apology.
Who it’s for
The person who has played since they were nine and the person opening their first pack next month, in the same room, which is the specific thing this hobby is unusually good at. Winter Park, Baldwin Park, Maitland, Audubon Park, College Park, Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Oviedo, Longwood and greater Orlando — if you have been driving past three places that don’t stock your game, you are who this is for.
Where we are in it
Build-out and stocking are underway for a Fall 2026 opening. The lease is the last thing between us and putting a street address on the shop page. What is already settled is the part that matters — which games, and how deep, which is written out on what we sell.
Come along early
Everyone on the email list before opening gets a founder code — it marks you as one of the people who backed the shop before it existed, and it is good for a perk on opening day. Grab one on the title screen, or follow @winterparktcg for build-out photos as the room comes together.
